2005 is brought to you in association with the letter B

it didn't look like the year was gonna be too for music and artiists in the key of B - what with the sad demise of busted, and that b*ddingfield chap releasing some more of his standard pap. however, hope is at hand! there are reasons for those of us who don't happen to run a greetings card shop or florist to be happy about today. the fabulous bloc party's equally fabulous new album silent alarm is out. their single so here we are is at number 5 in the hit parade - thought to be fair it's really not their best. in other news on the B front, the equally brilliant, if slightly less mainstream, accessible and london, british sea power are back soon with a new album, starting out with single it ended on an oily stage. bsp are quirky and unique and hard work at times i think, but the decline of... is still one of my all time favourite albums so i've gotta say i'm looking forward to the follow up. they're also always a safe bet to be entertaining live, so that should be fun, complete with added shruberries. last but not least on the B front at the bravery who have churned out a couple of fab singles and have an album to follow so fingers crossed on that front too. obviously no-one can replace matt, james and charlie in our hearts (even if you do name check palahniuk in your fightstar song), but we can try and replace them in our cd racks.
